Cleveland, OH – Charles Ramsey is the hero of the Internet after his part in the rescue of the Ohio kidnapping victims, and subsequent television interviews that made him a viral phenomenon. But did Angel Cordero, another Cleveland man, actually bust out the kidnapped women first?
MSN Now picked up on a local news report from ABC affiliate WEWS-TV on Angel Cordero, a man who had apparently already busted Amanda Berry out of captivity before Ramsey was even involved. Cordero could be the “we” that viral hero Charles Ramsey is talking about in his iconic interview.
Cordero told the station that Amanda Berry and her daughter, Jocelyn, were already outside of the house they had been imprisoned in for 10 years by the time Ramsey had entered the fray.
“I helped her. And I was first,” Cordero says. “The truth — who arrived here, who crossed the street, who broke the door — it was me … I did what had to be done.”
If Cordero wants anything, it seems to simply be recognition. But he might want to consider pairing up with Charles Ramsey, who is raking in fame, praise, and possibly free McDonalds for life for his part in the Ohio kidnapping rescue.
In case you didn’t see clips of the interviews , Ramsey referenced McDonalds a lot in his recounting of the story.
“I heard screaming,” he said. “I’m eating my McDonald’s. I come outside. I see this girl going nuts trying to get out of a house.”
McDonald’s noticed the accidental viral promotion, tweeting a vague:
We salute the courage of Ohio kidnap victims & respect their privacy. Way to go Charles Ramsey- we’ll be in touch.

We don’t know what the heck that is supposed to mean, but the general interpretation is:
If Charles Ramsey doesn’t get free McDonalds or get his own commercial it will be a crying shame.
