ISIS is claiming an American female hostage Kayla Mueller was just killed by the Jordanian airstrikes . The death of American aid worker has not yet been independently confirmed. News of the alleged death of the American ISIS hostage was posted by the Islamic State on social media around noon.

The Jordanian airstrikes in northern Syria were initiated by King Abdullah II in response to ISIS burning Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh alive inside a cage.

Moaz al-Kasasbeh was captured in December after his F-16 fighter jet went down in ISIS controlled territory. The video of the Jordanian pilot quickly and widely circulate on the internet was ultimately confirmed by the government as Jordan. The execution of failed female suicide bomber Sajida al-Rishawi took place earlier this week.

An Islamic State message, published by the SITE Intelligence Group, said Kayla Mueller was killed inside a building in Raqqa where she was being held by ISIS. The SITE Intelligence Group tracks potential jihadist activity.

“The failed Jordanian aircraft killed an American female hostage. No mujahid was injured in the bombardment, and all praise is due to Allah,” the ISIS said in a message claiming the American aid worker was killed during the Jordanian airstrikes.

The female aid worker was the only remaining American hostage being held captive by ISIS. She disappeared in August 2013 after she drove into Aleppo with her Syrian boyfriend. Several months later, her coworkers received a “proof-of-life” video. In the video, the American ISIS hostage was shown wearing a hijab and begging for her life.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr , the female ISIS hostage, 26, had her name revealed accidentally by White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough last week. The American aid worker had been left unidentified for security reasons. ISIS captured the woman when she was working to help displaced individuals impacted by the war in Syria.

Islamic State militants demanded a $6 million ransom and the release of ISIS supporters in exchange for Kayla Mueller. White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough released the name of the ISIS female hostage on live television on a Sunday news show. The prisoners ISIS demands include the release of Aafia Siddiqui, a neuroscientist trained at MIT. Siddiqui was convicted of attempting to murder United States officials and planning to make dirty bombs for us in terror attacks, in 2010.

Denis McDonough’s slip of the tongue occurred during a This Week segment with George Stephanopoulos on ABC. McDonough and Stephanopoulos were discussing the Japanese hostage reportedly killed recently by ISIS when the name of the American female hostage was uttered by the White House official.
