Amanda Bynes got an unexpected visitor on Thursday. Her parents reportedly brought her sweet pet dog Sherbert to the Hillmont Psychiatric Center in Ventura County, California on Thursday night.
Gossip site TMZ didn’t say who tipped them off. They did say that Bynes’ parents Rick and Lynn showed up after visiting hours on Thursday night with the pomeranian.
Doctors reportedly allowed Amanda Bynes and Sherbert to be together for about half an hour.
Amanda’s mother Lynn has been taking care of the little dog ever since Amanda melted down last month and landed in the hospital. As most of you already know, Bynes set a gasoline fire in an elderly woman’s driveway in Thousand Oaks.
She was holding Sherbert at the time. But I don’t think anyone believes that she would have ever set the dog on fire intentionally.
However, the gasoline spill was clearly an unsafe situation that could have sparked tragedy. When she realized what she had done, Bynes operated with a logic all her own and headed for a nearby liquor store to clean off Sherbert.

We can’t see everything that happens, since Bynes took the dog into an employees-only area. But the manager who rushed back there said that he smelled the gasoline and could see that Bynes was trying to rinse it off the dog.
Bynes has reportedly asked to see Sherbert many times as she continues her treatment in the inpatient facility. But the 27-year-old actress isn’t yet well enough to leave the hospital.
And she was still too sick to attend the court hearing yesterday where a judge approved Lynn Bynes’ request to take over legal control of her daughter’s financial and medical decisions until September 30.
But being able to see her dog is one small step on the road back for Amanda Bynes.
