The Powerball jackpot winner in South Carolina will win $400 million when the winning Powerball ticket is claimed.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Powerball winner tickets will sometimes go unclaimed for days at a time.

The Powerball winner ticket will feature the numbers 7, 10, 22, 32, 35 and Powerball 19 and was sold in a gas station in Lexington, South Carolina. If the P owerball winner decides to cash out the Power jackpot then the $400 million becomes $223 million after taxes.

Powerball officials have some advice for the Powerball jackpot winner:

“If whoever is holding the ticket is listening to us right now, we encourage them to do several things: Number one, sign the back of the ticket, put it in a secure location, and then seek counsel from a trusted adviser.”

Good advice since winning the Powerball lottery is sometimes not all it’s cracked up to be. Some Powerball winners have cut in line to get the winning tickets. Others even find themselves murdered by estranged family members or entangled in lawsuits if the Powerball winning ticket was purchased as a group. Some blow through their Powerball millions just to work in a cookie factory earning peanuts. But then there’s the heartwarming stories like where a Powerball winner used his winnings to pay for cancer treatments .

The price of Powerball tickets were doubled to $2 in order to drive the Powerball jackpot to higher numbers at a quicker pace. When the Powerball jackpot reaches hundreds of millions then many more people tend to play Powerball when they otherwise might not. Interestingly, people play for the Powerball jackpot despite the odds being one in 175,223,510. To give you an idea, becoming a Powerball jackpot winner has less of a chance than dying from a bee sting or lightning strike.
