Developer Crytek says Hollywood director and occasional grump James Cameron has seen Crysis 2 ‘s 3D visuals, and “loved what he saw.”
Crytek president Cevat Yerli tells this anecdote in the latest issue of Edge magazine, before going on to make a big claim – that Crysis 2 boasts 3D visuals as impressive as those seen in Avatar :
“I’ll even claim it’s the same as Avatar ‘s status in 3D. James Cameron has seen Crysis 2 , and he loved what he saw because his eyes are trained for 3D more than anyone else’s, and that makes me confident that we have a super-high-end 3D experience on all formats.”
“His eyes are trained for 3D more than anyone else’s”? Utter tosh there, but still, Crysis 2 is looking beautiful enough in 2D, as you can see by looking here . Sadly, I won’t be able to judge Yerli’s claim as I’m yet to see Avatar in 3D, and possess a PC that chugs when tackling games from six years ago.
