A Navy Yard shooting press conference today updated press and citizens about the fluid situation after this morning’s shooting, offering information confirmed thus far about the fatalities as well as the injured.

According to officials on the ground in D.C. , one shooter is confirmed dead at the Washington Navy Yard, and two more may be at large following the shooting.

Law enforcement officials were reluctant to disclose unconfirmed information, adding that several deceased victims are believed to be in the building (building 187), but that, until confirmation is received, no information will be given.

One shooter (possibly the only shooter) was described as a white male and spotted in a uniform with a handgun, and a second potential shooter was described as a black male with a “ long gun .”

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier confirmed little but did indicate there were believed to be “multiple victims inside who are deceased” and added that the men sought may be wearing olive drab Navy uniforms.

At the most recent press conference, authorities also confirm that the first victim of the Navy Yard shooting was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The man, who has not been named, was in his sixties and sustained a single gunshot wound to the head.
