Kate Middleton will have only the best for her royal baby, and the Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly spending $1.5 million to make sure the little one gets those things.
Kate and husband Prince William have been preparing the interior of Kensington Palace in anticipation of their baby in July. The baby will be growing up in Kensington Palace’s Apartment 1A, and to get ready Kate Middleton is spending $1.5 million in renovations to build the nursery and get the rest of the place set.
Whatever the renovations might bring, it’s likely that Kate Middleton and Prince William will be keeping it simple. The couple has a reputation for being easygoing and will likely spend a lot of time at home with their now-growing family.
“Some might say it’s a little dull,” a friend told Vanity Fair , “but they love it. I saw William recently and he is so happy. They’ve grown out of clubbing and have no interest in parties. They just enjoy being together at home. No one bothers them in Anglesey, there are few paparazzi, and they love the countryside.”
The renovated $1.5 million home will also give Kate Middleton a base of operations for motherhood.
“Kate was on the King’s Road not so long ago carrying a shopping bag with a chicken in it that she was taking home to cook for William’s supper,” another insider told Vanity Fair . “That’s their idea of the perfect night.”
Kate Middleton has been modest in her dress as well during the pregnancy. While the world tries to catch a glimpse of her growing figure, Kate has been careful to keep her baby bump covered .
The home being renovated for $1.5 million was reportedly given to Prince William and Kate Middleton by Queen Elizabeth. Still, the couple had to ask permission for the latest round of renovations.
