Lake Buena Vista, FL – Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom officially opened its new Fantasyland them park on Thursday. New and “reimagined” attractions such as Beauty and the Beast , Dumbo , and The Little Mermaid were among the main displays at the Disney entertainment compound in Florida.

Disney Fantasyland is the largest expansion project in the park’s 41-year history, according to Fox News . The new entertainment area nearly doubles the original size of Fantasyland. The Orlando area Disney theme park area mixed classic movie hits with more recent film related attractions in the multi-million dollar expansion project.

The new Fantasyland area is situated just past the famous Cinderella Castle and features two distinct sections. The Enchanted Forest offers visitors the chance to commune with Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Belle from Beauty and the Beast . The Storybook Circus area was inspired by the classic Disney hit movie Dumbo .

The Be Our Guest Restaurant is also a new feature in Fantasyland, according to the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom website . The new restaurant serves both beer and wine, making it the first eatery inside a Disney theme park to serve alcohol. After hours following children around and waiting in line, many moms, dads, and grandparents might very well find the Be Our Guest wine menu a welcome break from all the excitement, giggles, and inevitable whining.

Fantasyland highlights now includes an additional Dumbo ride, two castles, and a remodeled Barnstormer rollercoaster. Two of the Disney expansion projects have yet to open. Attractions still under construction include Princess Fairytale Hall and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
