SEAL Who Shot Bin Laden Bitter Over Benefits

The Navy SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden is unemployed and bitter that nobody told him he qualifies for veterans’ benefits.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the SEAL who shot Bin Laden was reported as saying:

“I left SEALs on Friday. My health care for me and my family stopped at midnight Friday night. I asked if there was some transition from my Tricare to Blue Cross Blue Shield. They said no. You’re out of the service, your coverage is over. Thanks for your sixteen years. Go f*** yourself.”

According to Newsbusters and CIR Executive Chairman Philip Bronstein, “Esquire” magazine told readers:

“[A]fter sixteen years in the Navy, his body filled with scar tissue, arthritis, tendonitis, eye damage, and blown disks, here is what he gets from his employer and a grateful nation: Nothing. No pension, no health care, and no protection for himself or his family.”

The statement about having “no health care” was incorrect. As a veteran, the SEAL is entitled to five years of free health care benefits.

According to Fox News and military publication “Stars and Stripes”:

“Like every combat veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the former SEAL, who is identified in the story only as ‘the Shooter,’ is automatically eligible for five years of free healthcare through the Department of Veterans Affairs.”

Six months after leaving the service because the shooter “wanted to see my children graduate and get married,” he is physically and psychologically wrecked. He left the military a few years too soon and now has no retirement or pension.

How would you feel if you spent over a decade of your life in the military, personally shot Osama Bin Laden, left the military to see your wife and kids, and then were told you had no benefits to show for it?
