Director Michael J. Bassett’s Silent Hill: Revelation is set to hit theaters towards the end of October. In order to drum up some interest for the sequel to Christophe Gans’ moderate box office success Silent Hill , the promotional team has released an intensely creepy motion poster online. If the first film scared to you to the edge of death, then you should approach the embedded image with caution.

Yahoo! Movies got the first look at the Silent Hill: Revelation motion poster, which gives fans an opportunity to celebrate the return of Pyramid Head, one of the villains featured in the first film. Even if you dismiss Silent Hill as a gimmicky mixture of Halloween haunted house thrills and nonsensical storytelling, the menacing presence of Pyramid Head is hard to deny.

Internet Movie Database describes the sequel’s plot as follows:

“Heather Mason and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand, Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her forever.”

For those who don’t spend a lot of time playing video games, the first Silent Hill debuted on the original Playstation way back in 1999. Written and directed by Keiichiro Toyama and developed by Team Silent, the game follows the spooky adventures of Harry Mason, a father who is desperately searching for his missing daughter. His investigation leads him to spooky streets of Silent Hill, a town shrouded in fog and teeming with deep, dark secrets. The game has spawned numerous sequels, spin-offs, and high-definition re-releases over the years.

Silent Hill: Revelation — which stars Sean Bean, Radha Mitchell, and Carrie-Anne Moss — opens in US theaters on October 26. The motion poster has been embedded below.
