AusRegistry International to provide Domain Name Registry Services for .nr

Melbourne, Australia- 22nd October 2009 (Inquisitr Wire): AusRegistry International, a leading provider of Domain Name Registry Solutions for Top Level Domains (TLDs), has reached agreement with the Government of Nauru to provide Domain Name Registry Services for the .nr country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD).

Under the terms of the arrangement, AusRegistry International will provide a complete Domain Name Registry Service to ensure continuity of service for existing and prospective registrants of .nr while the Government works to formally take over the management of the .nr ccTLD.

AusRegistry International provided Domain Name Registry Services for the Solomon Islands’ .sb ccTLD between 2003 and 2007, and is the official supplier of Domain Name Registry Software and associated Services to the .ae Domain Administration (for the .ae ccTLD) and to ictQATAR (for the .qa ccTLD).

AusRegistry International CEO Adrian Kinderis said: “We are delighted to be able to assist the Government of Nauru in their time of need, and we look forward to building a mutually-beneficial long-term partnership. AusRegistry International is committed to working with small and developing nations, in the Pacific and elsewhere, to help them to realise the full potential of their ccTLDs, which should be regarded as critical national resources.”

Minister for Transport and Telecommunications, Hon. Sprent Dabwido, said: “We are grateful to AusRegistry International for their assistance in this matter. We plan to continue building the profile of .nr and to develop it as a national asset to be of benefit to all Nauruans.”
