Here’s one thing you probably don’t know about Tyler Perry : He likes to sunbathe in the nude. At least he did before the Kate Middleton fiasco. In light of the royal scandal, Perry has decided to keep his trunks on when he goes out to catch some rays.
In a promotional stop on Chelsea Lately for his upcoming action thriller Alex Cross , Perry talked about his dramatic 30-pound weight loss and his relaxation regimen on his private island in the Bahamas which involved, you guessed it, naked sunbathing.
He told host Chelsea Handler: “I took some time off, first time in my career. … I hang out, ride my jet skis, I do nothing. I lay out on the beach naked. … I have a good time. That was until I found out that they took pictures of Kate Middleton from two miles away, so I don’t do that anymore!”
Perry is referencing the highly-publicized naked photos of Princess Kate Middleton, which were shot by paps and published much to the Royal Family’s chagrin.
The actor’s appearance on Chelsea Lately also carried an added bonus. Chelsea Handler’s talk show is only a half-hour long, so she has to keep things a-moving quickly. Perry apparently didn’t get the memo and expressed surprise when the host tried to wrap the interview up. “What do you mean go out?” Perry cried. “I’ve only been here two damn minutes!”
Perry then turned to the cameras to do his job and promote Alex Cross :
“So, Alex Cross is in theaters right now. We want you to come and see it. We’ll be right back. Thanks for being here, Tyler. Oh, you’re very welcome. Thank you so much for having me, Chelsea. Really great,” he said.
