The spokesman for Idaho Representative Raul Labrador has been fired for accidentally tweeting about 2 Broke Girls on his boss’ account.

Spokesman Phil Hardy was so impressed with the 2 Broke Girls Super Bowl commercial that he decided to tell his friends about it on Twitter. According to Idaho Statesman , Hardy accidentally issued the tweet on Labrador’s account.

Hardy said of the racy ad:

“Me likey Broke Girls”

Realizing his mistake, Hardy quickly deleted the tweet roughly 14 seconds it appeared. However, the damage had already been done. Sunlight Foundation, a website that collects deleted posts by politicians, had already cataloged the tweet in its database.

Labrador’s office quickly apologized for the snafu and explained that Hardy was the one responsible for making the 2 Broke Girls tweet. The Huffington Post explains it was Labrador who decided that the spokesman should be fired for the mistake.

Mormon Republican district director Jake Ball explained it was “Raul’s call” regarding Hardy’s termination. “I did not make the decision,” he added.

According to The Washington Post , Hardy sent out an email on Monday after news of the mistake started making the rounds online. Although he admitted to posting the tweet, he explained that it was not intentional.

In addition to serving as coalitions director, Hardy was also Labrador’s spokesperson and press agent. Neither Hardy nor Labrador’s office have responded to inquiries about the matter.

The 2 Broke Girls spot that caught Hardy’s attention finds stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behr dancing on a stripper pole to the tune of Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar on Me.” If you missed the commercial spot during its debut during the Super Bowl , you can find the clip embedded below.

What do you think about the spokesman who was fired for accidentally posting about 2 Broke Girls on Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador’s Twitter account? Do you think the punishment fits the crime?
