Notorious former Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt said that they feared for their lives while on the UK version of the popular reality show Celebrity Big Brother .
The couple say that they were convinced that their roommates were planning on killing them while they slept, reports MSN . Among the famous roomies that are apparently hell-bent on killing Heidi and Spencer are model Paula Hamilton and singer Claire Richards.
The couple finished second in the final on Friday, and Pratt says that they were constantly worried while in the house that their safety was in jeopardy, after several melees with their housemates. He told Britain’s Daily Star :
“We didn’t sleep much at all. I always had one eye open. We were watching them thinking they were going to try and kill us in our sleep. We were constantly nervous something might happen. Every time we saw any of them near knives we left the kitchen straight away. Some of them would itch their own face with a butcher’s knife – it was mentally insane. If they’ll hold knives by their own faces I didn’t know what they were capable of.”
Montag adds:
“They were at such an intense level in the house, we thought they would come and mess with us. Who knows what they would do? At times they were very volatile, easily triggered, and they had violent tendencies. I thought we would have to run to get away from it. I didn’t want to get into a fight at all costs.”
But take it with a grain of salt. The couple also admitted to purposely playing the “villains” on the show, calling the gig “just a job.”
“They brought us in to be Speidi and stir it all up. I feel like a cartoon character. My talent for some odd reason, is being an a**hole,” said Pratt.
What’s more, he made the declaration in the middle of the finale, causing some to wonder whether or not it was just another stunt. Though he made an emotional appeal to his fellow housemates, he and Heidi were kicked off the show. Afterwards, Pratt invited jeers from the crowd at the public exit, and remained defiant and arrogant when talking about the experience with presenter Brian Dowling.
