There are those jobs that everyone considers a dream job, but not all people get the honor and joy of ever having it. Many wonder what it would be like to just do something they enjoy all day while seeing far-off places and loving life, but getting paid for it. Now, there is a company from Florida called World of Beer that is looking to hire you to travel the world and drink beer this summer, and they’re going to pay you $12,000 to do it.
As Thrillist pointed out, the Florida-based company really does want to do this. It’s not a joke. It isn’t an internet hoax. This is a legitimate business opportunity and all you’d have to do is travel around the world and drink beer during the summer of 2016.
Now, that won’t be all you will do.
You knew there would be a catch, right? Actually, it isn’t that bad as the only other thing you’ll have to do is write about what you’re doing and let the world know all about it.

Three (yes, only three) interns will be hired by World of Beer, and they will be spending around four months traveling around the country and the world. The interns will be visiting numerous breweries so they can taste beers and check out different styles and flavors.
In addition to that, the interns will attend beer festivals and parties and post all about their experiences and shenanigans in an online blog. This is not a full-time position as many may wish, but for four-ish glorious months, it will be the best job that three people will ever have.
World of Beer’s website has a full job description that is quite enticing, but it’s not like you needed more motivation to want to be hired.
“We’re recruiting three Drink it Interns to hit the road this summer and search out the best craft beer and food the world has to offer. We’ll send you down the street and around the world to capture the best beer stories and document them by blogging, capturing video, taking photos, Facebooking, Tweeting, sharing Vines, Periscoping, and anything else you think would be awesome to help tell the tale.”
If you’d like to apply for the job , World of Beer is accepting applications right now. They began taking them for “Drink Intern” back on March 1, and will accept them until March 26. If you want to apply though, you’re going to obviously have to be 21 years old.
The instructions for getting started are simple.
- Fill out basic info in the application .
- Upload an up-to-one minute video explaining why you’re perfect for the job and talking about your favorite beers. Also, show a hidden talent or two.
- Brag about completing your application. “Sharing a post through your social channels will bump you up to the top of our list,” according to World of Beer’s website.
If you end up as a finalist for the position, World of Beer will contact you during the week of March 28 and have final interviews during the week of April 4. From that point, three will be chosen to be the interns for a summer of traveling the world, drinking beer, blogging about it, and loving life with pay.
This really is not a joke.
World of Beer wants you, or at least three people somewhere, to take on this amazingly difficult(?) position of traveling to great locations, visiting breweries, and drinking beer. You’re going to have to do some writing about it, but other than that, you’ll make $12,000 while having four of the best months you could ever imagine.
