“Jersey Shore” star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and members of his family are accused of skipping out on a $30,000 bill for stocking his Bronx store before its planned opening. Embroidme garment-printing service owner Maria Emma told the New York Post that Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s father, Ronnie Sr. refused to pay the balance owed for the work she completed on Ronnie’s Shore Store. Emma claims that Ronnie Sr. sent two checks for $10,000 each but later canceled the checks.
“They’re disgusting. I’m getting stop-payment checks. I can’t even write payroll checks to my employees,” Emma told the New York Post.
Embroidme created more than 12,000 apparel items for the “Jersey Shore” actor’s Ronnie’s Shore Store in preparation for the opening of the Bronx store on May 19. Ronnie’s brand includes t-shirts, bags, sandals, towels, and water bottled labeled with the word, “Smush.” Ronnie Ortiz-Magro allegedly ordered ladies spaghetti-string tops with the phrases – “I’m done” and “If you don’t remember it, deny deny deny.” The “Jersey Shore” style t-shirts were priced from $25 to $30 each.
Emma finished the rush order in two weeks. The Embroidme owner told the New York Post that such a large order would typically have taken three month to finish. The company also makes products for DKNY, Yves Saint Laurent and Martha Stewart.
“Rushed is an understatement. We didn’t sleep. We moved all of the products aside. We treated it like it was our own company. Everything was delivered months ago and they’re making money off it,” Emma told the New York Post.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro owns a third of Ronnie’s Shore Shop, his family owns the rest. Ronnie’s spokesperson Julianna Goldman told the New York Post the checks were canceled because the Ortiz-Magro family was unhappy with the service they received and poor quality of “some of the shirts.” Ronnie Ortiz-Magro recently finished filming the sixth season of “Jersey Shore” in Seaside Heights.
