According to a number of reports, the Atlanta Hawks have agreed to deal leading scorer and six-time All-Star Joe Johnson to the Brooklyn Nets.

In exchange for Johnson, Atlanta will receive guards Anthony Morrow, Jordan Farmar and DeShawn Stevenson and forwards Jordan Williams and Johan Petro, along with a draft pick Brooklyn received from the Houston Rockets in a prior deal.

The selection only belongs to the Nets if it is not a lottery pick.

While the terms for the blockbuster deal have all been agreed upon by all parties involved, CNN points out that the Johnson trade can’t be officially finalized until July 11, when the free-agent moratorium ends.

Johnson, who still has four years and $90 million left on his contract, averaged nearly 19 points per contest during the 2011-2012 NBA season.

By agreeing to the trade with the Hawks, the Nets are hoping to team the 11-year NBA veteran with free agent point guard Deron Williams, whom they are working to re-sign, in the franchise’s first season in New York City after decades in New Jersey.

Besides the Johnson trade, the Nets also reached an agreement Sunday on a four-year, $40 million contract with forward Gerald Wallace as part of their rebuilding plan.

As for the Hawks, under the leadership of their new president and GM Danny Ferry the organization also made a deal with the Jazz Monday, trading forward Marvin Williams for guard Devin Harris.

ESPN’s Chris Broussard breaks down the Joe Johnson trade and its expected impact on the Brooklyn Nets in the video below:
