One Direction have flown into Scotland for two shows at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro. One Direction stars Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan arrived at Glasgow airport just hours before their sold out show in a Embraer Legacy 500 private jet worth a cool $20 million. According to the Daily Mail, fourth One Direction star Louis Tomlinson was nowhere to be seen . Tomlinson’s absence from the aircraft is sure to fuel further speculation about rumored tensions between various members of One Direction.
Just a few days ago the Telegraph reported that One Direction’s Harry Styles has the UK’s most followed Instagram account and Harry celebrated the milestone by sharing an aerial snap of the band’s approach to Glasgow with his 13 million followers. Harry’s black and white snap has already attracted over 700,000 likes on the social media platform.

One Direction’s two sold out shows in Glasgow are the boy-band’s final appearances in Scotland before the band splits, at least temporarily, early in the new year. There is considerable speculation about what the various members of One Direction will do when they go their separate ways to pursue solo projects. Fans across the world have a fifth One Direction album to look forward to before that break happens.
The album Made In The A.M. is due to drop on November 13 and will mark the fulfillment of One Direction’s contractual obligations with Simon Cowell’s Syco. One Direction signed a five-year, five-album deal with Cowell after appearing on the 2010 season of X-Factor . At present, there have been no announcements about whether or not One Direction will be offered a further contract with Cowell.
The fact that Louis Tomlinson appeared to be absent when One Direction arrived in Glasgow is sure to lead to renewed speculation about tensions in the group. As reported in Inquisitr a few days ago Tomlinson and band-mate Liam Payne appeared to have a fall-out onstage during a show in Manchester over the weekend. Payne and a spokesperson for One Direction have firmly denied the suggestion that stars had angry words and claimed that the two pals were engaged in a bit of horseplay.
Louis’ absence from the flight could simply indicate that he travelled separately from the rest of the group. It has been widely reported that Briana Jungwirth has been spotted at a number of One Direction shows in recent weeks. It may well be the case that Louis is simply trying to spend as much time as possible with Briana, who is pregnant with Louis’ baby.
One Direction fans will be aware that the group’s continued use of private jets has lead to them being criticized for having double standards. Just a few months ago, One Direction launched a campaign called Action1D in which they encouraged fans to put pressure on world leaders to tackle issues like climate change and world poverty. Aircraft emissions are believed to be one of the worst causes of greenhouse gases.
Given that One Direction performed in Manchester on Sunday, and that Glasgow is just a four hour drive from Manchester, many will wonder why One Direction chose to use private jets rather than a much less polluting tour bus ride. The Daily Mail has previously criticized One Direction for using not one, but two private jets to travel relatively short distances between shows.
In other One Direction news, Unreality TV are claiming that obsessed 1D fans may be forcing Harry Styles out of his home, and potentially out of the UK altogether. It seems that a group of One Direction fans are camping outside Harry’s London home and are continually kicking his gate and ringing his doorbell demanding Harry’s attention. The fans’ behavior is believed to be driving Styles to sell his home and move permanently to Los Angeles.
