One Direction Stars Deny Rift, But Are The Cracks Showing?

One Direction have been on the road since February and have trekked across five continents whilst doing so. The “On The Road Again” tour has certainly proved an eventful one for One Direction. In the months since the tour started, One Direction has lost a member, announced that they are to split, recorded a fifth album, and rumors about rifts within the group have been circulating for months. In addition to all that, Louis Tomlinson split with long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder and is expecting a baby with Briana Jungwirth.

Life in the One Direction camp is certainly rarely dull. The latest drama surrounding One Direction has come after a video emerged that appeared to show Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne having a heated argument on stage. Contact Music report that the video was shot by a One Direction fan during the group’s show in Manchester last night, and appears to show Tomlinson and Payne having a very heated exchange whilst Harry Styles was singing.

As can be seen in the video, Payne grabs hold of Tomlinson and appears to shout angrily at him. Tomlinson angrily pushes him off and appears to hit out with an elbow, though no contact is made.

According to the Daily Mail, Liam, in particular, seems riled. One Direction fans at the gig that claim that Louis intentionally stood in front of Liam, who acted aggressively towards his bandmate. Fans claim that Louis kept walking off the stage between songs, leaving his bandmates to fill the gaps.

The video was shot by 21-year-old One Direction fan Maisie Adam, who claimed that Louis kept leaving the stage and that both Niall Horan and Liam looked annoyed by his behavior.

“All the time Louis kept disappearing off-stage between songs. The other three looked a bit confused about that throughout the set.

Then Louis forgot the words to one of the songs. It was one where his verse was near the beginning and Harry had to take over.”

According to Yahoo! Celebrity, Liam and Louis frequently have play fights and throw water around during One Direction shows, but some fans thought that this incident went further than that. That said, a spokesperson for One Direction has denied that there is any rift between the bandmates.

“This is clearly just banter, they are obviously just messing about on stage. Anyone that has seen the band perform will know this.”

Liam was clearly less than impressed by Heatworld’s coverage of the story. The One Direction star took to Twitter to slam the story claiming that he was having “a joke with a friend on stage.”

Louis has made no comment about the alleged One Direction spat. Instead, he preferred to concentrate on the fact that he had invited seriously ill youngster Georgia Edwards to One Direction’s show. As reported in the Inquisitr, Louis invited little Georgia and her family to meet One Direction after his mother had spotted a Facebook campaign by her family. Louis has recently been organizing events and making donations to charities dedicated to helping children with serious illness.

The current One Direction tour now rolls on to Scotland and a variety of UK venues before it finishes in Sheffield at the end of this month. The fifth One Direction album, Made In The A.M., is due for release on November 13 and, after a round of promotional appearances, One Direction will then take an extended break to pursue solo projects.
