Holidays aren’t as rare as they used to be, and now almost every single day of the year is “National” something or another day. Well, July 24 falls on a Friday this year, and it is also when everyone is able to celebrate National Tequila Day . With that, you’ll need some cheap drink specials to celebrate the “ holiday ” and the fact that another work week has come to a thankful end.
A number of Mexican restaurants — chain or local establishments — have come to celebrate this holiday every year. Usually, there are big-time drink specials on tequila and margaritas to be had, so make sure you look around and know where to get the best ones.
According to Time , independent bars, pubs, and restaurants around the United States are hosting different events and promotions that are themed all around tequila. Here are just a few of the national chain restaurants offering deals for National Tequila Day.
Abuelo’s — If you walk into just about every Abuelo’s, you will be able to have premium margaritas all day for $5.95 each. Fourteen states have the popular Mexican restaurant, and they’re known to have some of the best options out there, including a Skinny Margarita and Cerveza Rita.
On the Border — National Tequila Day is going to be celebrated at On the Border locations for both Friday and Saturday. Patrons can enjoy house margaritas and shots of Lunazul Reposado tequila for just $2 each.
Chevys — Plain and simple, hop on into any Chevys for $2 shots of Jose Cuervo the entire day. There is no happy hour at Chevys on Friday, just National Tequila Day.
El Torito — Not to be outdone by Chevys, El Torito locations will be serving shots of Jose Cuervo all day long on Friday for just $2 each.
There are other ways to get good discounts on tequila elsewhere too. Places like Gilt City also offer some good promotions here and there that will help you save a little cash while having a bit of fun.
Sometimes, celebrating at home with friends is the best option.
Remember, celebrating National Tequila Day in 2015 is going to be one that has a little bit extra something to it because it falls on a Friday. Everyone is going to be happy to be off work and to celebrate another of the “national holidays” with friends, and to get some of the cheapest drink specials and best tequila around.
