Joanne Steinmetz’s death will be seen on tonight’s new episode of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County . During filming on season 10, Vicki Gunvalson received a phone call, which was filmed for the show, and revealed the shocking news of her mother’s passing.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Gunvalson’s co-star, Tamra Barney, reached out to Gunvalson on Monday morning, encouraging fans to have their tissues ready for the emotional episode, and telling Gunvalson she was in her prayers . Gunvalson, however, has remained silent for days, aside from a 4th of July post to fans on Saturday.
While enjoying the holiday at Southern California’s Monarch Bay Private Beach Club, Gunvalson wished her fans a happy 4th. In the accompanying photo, Gunvalson gave fans a glimpse of her stunning beach view.
When the Real Housewives of Orange County season 10 trailer was revealed, on Mother’s Day, nonetheless, Gunvalson was seen on the phone — and then collapsing to the floor. Although details surrounding the incident were unclear in the clip, it was later revealed Gunvalson had just gotten news of Joanna Steinmetz’s death.

Understandably, fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County were up in arms after Bravo chose to debut the season 10 trailer on Mother’s Day. Gunvalson was, and still is, grieving, and the incident appeared to be extremely insensitive.
In May, Us Weekly revealed Gunvalson’s statement about Joanne Steinmetz’s passing to fans.
“Tonight I received a phone call that is every person’s worst nightmare. My amazing, beautiful and strong mother passed on and is now with the love of her life my father in heaven. I am who I am today, because of her. An amazing cook, organized, bold personality and had a sense of style and fashion that I adored. I miss you so much mommy! My life will never be the same without you to give me advice and your wisdom. You were so healthy and so vibrant and so beautiful. I still need you. I love you MOM.”
Joanne Steinmetz has been seen on the Bravo reality show a number of times throughout Gunvalson’s time with the series.
