American Nazi Party Registers First Lobbyist in Washington

The Democratic Party is full of communists according to Allen West , and they’re about to have some company. The American Nazi Party has registered its first lobbyist in Washington this week, according to reports .

On Tuesday, the same day that West made his controversial remarks, the American Nazi Party made its move toward political discourse on Capitol Hill with one John Bowles registering with the Clerk of the House as a lobbyist for none other than the Nazi Party. If his name sounds familiar, he was the National Socialist Movement’s presidential nominee back in 2008.

What for? For one, the Nazi Party desires “Political Rights and ballot access laws,” according to the registration form, also listing accounting, agriculture, clean air and water, civil rights, health issues, the Constitution, immigration, manufacturing, and retirement as “general lobbying issue areas.”

Bowles chose to associate himself with the Nazi Party over the National Socialist Movement primarily because of branding. Americans don’t know what socialism is (despite using the word to brand pretty much anything undesirable) but they are familiar with Nazis, so, “why don’t we just say what we are?” he said. “In the future, when we get people on the ballot, when people see the swastika on the ballot, they’ll know what they’re getting.” His goals are pretty much the same as any other political party or group: soften extreme views and get votes. “One of my goals is to make it easier to get on the ballot. Trying to get on a ballot in some of these states [is difficult],” he said.

When asked why Congress would ever meet with a lobbyist member of the Nazi Party, Bowles responded , “I don’t see why not,” saying that lobbyists rely on their credibility. “Of course I won’t approach anybody in Congress unless it’s a very interesting issue or law,” he promises. “I’m going to be very careful about the issues I choose for this.”

Good to know.
