There have been rumors swirling that Jessica Collins was leaving the role of Avery on The Young and the Restless, and now it seems it’s been confirmed. Though the character will appear on-screen for a bit yet, Collins has finished filming and the news swirled around social media.

Viewers have been watching as Avery split with Dylan, got closer to her ex Joe, accused Joe of previously assaulting her and then edged closer to Dylan again. The talk of Collins leaving Young and Restless started up in late May, but things weren’t confirmed until now.

Christian LeBlanc, who plays Michael, shared a photo of Collins with the rest of the cast together on her last day of filming. He noted that it was her last day and that it was a love fest.

Though everybody was full of smiles, it’s clear from the various social media posts that everybody was sad to see her go. While LeBlanc himself has been in the middle of rumors that he, too, is leaving the soap, so far he’s still in the mix of things on Young and Restless .

Now that the news is out, Jessica has been sharing a lot of tweets about wrapping up her time as Avery Bailey Clark as well. She shared a drink menu put together for her last day celebration, she’s shared tweets from her co-stars and shared love with them, and she’s thanked her fans for joining her on the amazing ride she had on the show.

How will Avery be written out of the show? There were rumors that the initial plan was so heinous it had to be changed, but there are still hints that it will be a brutal departure. Collins joined the soap in 2011 and had an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 2013. Fans are very disappointed to hear she’s leaving, and the groundwork is clearly being laid for Avery’s exit now.

Avery and Joe have had some vicious interactions lately, with one leading her to disappear briefly. This past week she thought she saw someone on her balcony and naturally thought it was Joe. She’s claimed that Joe was abusive to her in the past, and she’s been leaning on Dylan for support. Will Avery set Joe up to take the fall for her disappearance or death? Or, could Joe actually do something to harm Avery?

So far, there are no solid Young and Restless spoilers regarding the departure of Jessica Collins in the role of Avery Bailey Clark in terms of how it will play out. Viewers will have to stay tuned to see just how things progress in the coming weeks, as it is shaping up to be a wild ride.
