New information has emerged on Shanya Hubers, a Kentucky woman who shot her boyfriend out of jealousy. While in the police station during interrogation, the 24-year-old not only confessed to the murder, but proudly sang about it.

New York Daily News reports that while Hubers was in the interrogation room, the former Kentucky college student began singing and dancing when left alone while bragging about killing her former boyfriend, Ryan Poston.

“I killed him, I killed him.”

Police Chief Bill Birkenhauer states that it was the oddest things he had ever seen from a suspect. He watched the ordeal from a video feed.

“This was one of the strangest things, when she was doing that dancing, snapping her fingers and twirling around, almost as if she was proud of it.”

Hubers was convicted three years ago for murdering Poston, but the judge still hasn’t decided what her sentence will be. During a court appearance this week, the jury recommended that Hubers serve 40 years. When she heard the news, she acted surprised and dumbfounded.

Huber’s story dates back to 2012 when her then-boyfriend Poston began dating that year’s Miss Ohio, Audrey Bolte. Although Hubers and Poston were already rocky at this point, Hubers was furious and jealous when she learned about Bolte.

Consequently, on October, 2o12, she shot Poston six times, killing him inside his apartment in Highland Heights, Kentucky.

She called 911 immediately after shooting her former boyfriend, but she claimed it was self-defense. Yet her actions while being interrogated told a completely different story.

“He’s very vain. One of our last conversations we had that was good was that he wants to get a nose job. And I shot him right here. I gave him his nose job he wanted. I broke it.”

Even when not being questioned, Hubers continued to talk. She pondered whether she would ever get married, while laughing about it.

“I don’t know if anyone will ever want to marry me if they know that I killed a boyfriend in self-defense; not funny.”

The night prior to the murder, Hubers spent the evening having dinner with Poston and his family. During dinner, Poston revealed to a family member that he was getting ready to break up with Hubers.

Although it’s uncertain if Hubers heard Poston’s conversation with the family member, she did learn that Poston planned on dating Bolte. This made her furious.

Shanya Hubers still faces the possibility of 40 years, with the eligibility for parole. The judge in the case will make his final ruling on June 15.
