McDonald’s full menu will no longer be available at the drive-thru. The next time you are in a hurry you still might have to take the time and go inside McDonald’s to place your order if you want something from McDonald’s full menu. The Wall Street Journal announced that McDonald’s is cutting some items from its drive-thru menu . This is part of McDonald’s global restructuring plan.

All McDonald’s drive-thrus will cease taking full menu orders. This is to streamline orders and provide quicker delivery service. McDonald’s will show only the top-selling items on the drive-thru menu boards. Some items will be cut from the menu altogether. Those items that will not be sold inside the restaurant or at the drive-thru window include the Deluxe Quarter Pounder, several chicken sandwiches, the Snack Wrap, and others.
Fox reported these changes are made in an effort to have better service for customers in the drive-thru and a way for foods to be delivered faster. When the plan is implemented, McDonald’s will be showing only the “top-selling” items on drive-thru menu boards. These changes will not be good news for those who don’t want to park their cars and walk inside the building.
McDonald’s is quickly underway to turn the company around. By changing the drive-thru menu, McDonald’s hopes to speed things along.
The problem with this change is that people will still attempt to get their food from the drive-thru because they won’t know what’s on the board until they get there. Then they will also have to go inside. However, with fewer items on the boards, people can read quickly, order, and then move on. It will probably take some time for people to get used to these changes since they are in the habit of using the drive-thru.
McDonald’s will also be adding more options to the menu board inside the restaurant. These foods will be in the mid-price range from $1.50 to $3 to cover the area in between the discounted Dollar Menu and the premium offerings.
