Most people love Olive Garden’s free breadsticks. Now, there is a reason to love Olive Garden breadsticks even more. According to USA Today , starting June 1, customers can order breadstick sandwiches at Olive Garden restaurants. You don’t have to eat plain breadsticks anymore. You can fill your breadsticks with chicken parmigiana or meatballs.

Olive Garden spokeswoman Jessica Dinon explains why breadstick sandwiches will be on Olive Garden’s menu.

“We’re always looking to evolve our menu. We’re always bringing on new items, and right now we’re really taking those dishes our guests know and love and giving them more ways to enjoy it. Obviously people love our breadsticks.”

When most people heard the news about the breadstick sandwiches, they wondered how much fillings can go into the narrow breadsticks. Olive Garden also thought about that and solved the problem by making the breadstick wider to have room for the fillings. The size is the only thing that’s changing about the breadsticks. The size will be altered slightly to be shorter and wider than the usual breadsticks offered to restaurant diners. Their delicious taste will remain the same.

“Diners will still receive an unlimited supply of hot breadsticks on the table, along with soup, salad, and other selections.”

Us Magazine reported that Olive Garden tweeted to its hundreds of thousands of followers news about the introduction of breadstick sandwiches.

The announcement included a photo of chicken parmigiana slathered in melted cheese and marinara sauce and wedged between two garlicky pieces of Olive Garden’s breadsticks.

Olive Garden is doing what most restaurants are doing these days. Most restaurants are trying to make dining more enjoyable by adding new items to their menus. Olive Garden spokeswoman Jessica Dinon knows what most diners love.

“We know our guests love our breadsticks. It’s iconic.”

Olive Garden is an American casual dining restaurant chain specializing in Italian-American foods. It is a subsidiary of Darden Restaurants, Inc. headquartered in Orange County, Florida, near Orlando. Olive Garden operates more than 800 locations worldwide. The breadsticks sandwiches will be in all the Olive Garden restaurants for diners.

One thing to keep in mind is that the breadstick sandwiches are available only for lunch. The breadstick sandwiches are reasonable priced. The meatball breadstick sandwich is $6.99, and the chicken parmigiana breadstick sandwich is $7.99.

Are you looking forward to tasting the two breadstick sandwiches at Olive Garden when they become available on June 1?
