Heidi Klum is sharing makeover pictures that prove even supermodels look very different with makeup on versus off.
The 41-year-old model shared her “before” picture on April 14, showing a natural look with no (or at least very little) makeup and her hair slicked back. A few hours later she shared the “after” picture, showing herself glammed up and her hair full of volume.
Heidi Klum had a lot of help with the makeover. On her Instagram page, she credited makeup artist Linda Hay and hair stylist Brent Lawler for delivering the look.
As her makeover shows, Heidi Klum is not afraid to show the efforts she’s taking to stay relevant in an industry where youth is valued above almost all else. In a recent interview with Yahoo! News , Heidi said keeping herself in shape is a full-time, year-round job.
“I always have to be ready to take off my clothes and look great. People who are not in my industry probably don’t worry as much about how they look, because they don’t have to take their clothes off for lingerie shoots all the time. I’ve never had that summer-season blitz where you’re getting ready to look good in your swimsuit. As a model, you have to look good all year round.”
Heidi went on to explain that staying in shape isn’t just for her health, but literally to keep her job in the modeling industry.
“If you’re not fit and you’re not 100 per cent someone else is going to get the job. There are so many beautiful girls to choose from, so if you want to be top, your body has to look top.”
Heidi Klum has certainly done a good job keeping her body in shape. She remains one of the best-known models in the world, and though it’s been five years since she walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret , she’s still been on the covers of magazines including Elle and Vogue .
While it may be difficult staying relevant, Heidi Klum is earning praise for her makeover pictures — both the before and after shots. Many noted that she is barely showing signs of aging, and likely still has a long modeling career ahead of her, at least for as long as she wants to deal with the year-round upkeep.
