According to Design & Trend , the Duggar family recently shared a photo from their Texas vacation, and while people loved seeing the 19 Kids And Counting siblings having fun together, they noticed something that wasn’t so cool. There was a gun sitting in the grass near 5-year-old Josie, and it was unattended.

The Duggars leaving a gun near their children is concerning to hundred if not thousands of people. Although the family might tell you that they have educated their children when it comes to gun safety, everyone knows that accidents do happen. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , people feel that leaving a gun lying around is completely irresponsible . In the photo, you will notice that there are a lot of people around, but no one is really focusing on Josie as she walks next to the shotgun.
According to Radar Online , this isn’t the first time that the Duggar family has been under fire for allowing their children to be around guns . Over the years there have been several photos of the Duggar kids holding and shooting guns, but the family insists that it is their right to bear arms, and that all of their children who have handled a gun have been properly trained, and know how to do so safely. But does this mean that having guns around young children is acceptable?
The Duggars have yet to comment on the gun photo, but the internet isn’t backing down. People have been debating whether or not having a child near a gun is ever acceptable, and whether or not the Duggars have put their children in danger by allowing them to play near an unattended gun. While details of the photo are unknown — such as how long the gun had been on the ground, or if whoever took the photo picked up the gun right after — people see what they see, and they are not afraid to voice their opinions. It is also unknown if the gun was loaded or if there was any ammunition close by.
