Former Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and his younger brother Aaron are mourning the death of their sister Leslie Carter who has died at the age of 25.
E! News reports that Leslie died in upstate New York on Tuesday. No other details have been revealed regarding the cause of her death.
“Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter,” the Carter family said in a statement. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.”
Like her brothers, Leslie also had an interest in music and is perhaps best known for her song “Like Wow!” which was featured on the 2001 “Shrek” soundtrack. She also appeared with her siblings on the 2006 E! reality show, “House of Carters.”
Leslie most recently performed with the four-piece rock band The Other Half, but the group split in 2009.
Leslie Carter leaves behind a husband of four years, Mike Ashton, and their 10-month old daughter, Alyssa Jane.
