A road rage video shot in North Carolina shows how a disabled grandmother named Sherri Hastings was terrorized by a woman in a SUV named Kristin Leigh Phillips.

In a related report by the Inquisitr , a road rage video from I-80 shows how two girls were chased down by an angry driver. A new study shows that Toyota Prius drivers are worse than Corvette owners , even when it comes to speeding tickets.

Hastings says the road rage incident occurred when she was driving in Randleman, and Phillips allegedly tried to “slam into her” in a 35 mph zone. This portion of the incident occurred before the road rage video began recording, but Hastings said the situation was about to blow up, so she turned on her smartphone.

“I knew what was going to happen. I wanted it on tape. Twice the lady tried to pass me on a two-lane road with double lines on a hill. She about ran me off road first time. She got behind me a second time and then went to go around again. I let her have the road, called 911, reported her and her plate number … I started phone video which was in a holder on dashboard — hands free,” Hastings said, according to Fox 13 .

The road rage video itself shows the SUV stopping several times as Hastings follows behind in her own vehicle along with her six-year-old granddaughter. Hastings can be heard on the video describing how the other woman tried to run them off the road.

Philips eventually stopped her SUV, exited the vehicle, and came running over to harass the Hastings family. She can be seen screaming and cursing and trying to grab Hastings as the driver’s window is hurriedly raised. The granddaughter begins crying and shouting as Philips pounds on the glass and the roof of the car. Eventually, Philips stomps back to the SUV while yelling taunts.

When Hastings gave the road rage video they posted it on Facebook and tips from the public came pouring in quickly. After eluding deputies most of the day, Philips turned herself in.

“This is a grandmother with a handicapped sign and child in the car,” Detective Sgt. Bernie Maness told the Daily News .

“We don’t do that here.”

Due to the popularity of the road rage video, Kristin Leigh Phillips is charged with reckless driving to endanger, assault and battery, injury to personal property, driving left of center, and two counts of communicating threats. She is currently out of jail on bail.
