The dramatic story that is the Cleveland Browns continues as wide receiver Josh Gordon is facing another one-year suspension after failing yet another drug test. The young receiver continues his troublesome career, and it certainly appears as if his time with the Browns is all but over.

Pro Football Talk confirmed that Gordon is indeed looking at a one-year ban from the NFL for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. Gordon was said to have tested positive for alcohol and now his suspension appears to be a “done deal.”

Obviously, the Browns’ organization is not happy with the situation.

“Clearly we are very disappointed to hear the latest report regarding Josh,” a Browns team spokesperson said. “At this point, due to the confidential nature of the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, we have not been made aware by the league of a failed test. We are in the process of gathering more information and will provide further comment at the appropriate time.”

Gordon is subject to alcohol testing because he was arrested for a DWI back in July of 2014. He was speeding down a street in Raleigh, North Carolina, and was then found to be impaired, per ESPN .

As with the year-long suspension that Gordon had last season, this one is not expected to be overturned or shortened.

In 2013, Josh Gordon missed the first two games of the seasons for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. In 2014, he missed the first 10 games of the season after his DWI, and then was suspended for the final game as well. That final game suspension was for violating team rules.

Gordon’s troubles actually date back to his time in college at Baylor University. He failed a marijuana test, and had said at the time that he was no longer that person and his life had changed for the better.

“It was against school policy, of course, and I was [suspended] in the summer. I’ve definitely put that part of my life behind me. I don’t plan to ever go back there. It was a difficult time, but I learned from it, and I’ve moved on.”

At the end of the season, it already seemed like the relationship between Josh Gordon and the Cleveland Browns was over. With this most recent failed drug test, it could be a certainty for the Browns to part ways with him, especially since he will likely miss another entire season.
