The inventor of Invisible Boyfriend, Matthew Homann, describes himself as a “recovering lawyer” with “idea surplus disorder.” He says he came up with the idea several years ago after suffering from a divorce, and was becoming tired of being asked about resuming the dating life.
“Around Thanksgiving, my mom called me and asked if she should set an extra place for someone I’m bringing,” Homann says on the site’s website. “In that moment I realized how great it would be to have an answer for her that didn’t require me to actually be dating someone.”
So would Raj dump Siri for the potential Invisible Girlfriend that could be created with this service? Writers at the Daily Mail tried it out and reported they enjoyed the experience.
