Tim Tebow and Jana Duggar have been matched up in the tabloids and rumored to be dating, but reps for the former NFL quarterback are putting the brakes on rumors that the two are a couple.
Recent reports indicated that the 19 Kids and Counting star was being set up with Tebow, with her dad Jim Bob Duggar pulling the strings. Last month Jim Bob met with Tim’s mother, Pam Tebow, at a Loving Choices Pregnancy Centers fundraiser in Arkansas.
“A great lady and a great cause!” the Duggars wrote on Facebook. “We enjoyed hearing Pam Tebow share tonight.”
The connections between the Duggars and the Tebows went even deeper. Not long after they met, Pam visited the Duggar household in Arkansas, Radar Online reported. This led to reports that the Duggar family was pushing for Jana to start dating Tim Tebow.
Now it appears those reports were a bit hasty. A rep for Tim Tebow said he is not dating Jana Duggar, and doesn’t even really know her.
“Tim and Jana Duggar have never even met,” Tim’s rep told Us Weekly .
To many, the match-up seemed to make sense. Both Tebow and Jana Duggar come from very religious, conservative families and are active in pro-life causes. Both Tim and Jana have also adopted a philosophy of saving themselves for marriage.
There were plenty of fans hoping that Tebow and Duggar were dating. Plenty of fans voiced their support on Twitter, and E! Online even compiled a list of the “5 Reasons We Pray They’re Dating!”
But Tim Tebow may not have much time for dating Jana Duggar, or anyone else for that matter. Tim has taken on a new job as an analyst for the SEC network and is supplementing the work with a growing number of weekly radio appearances to talk college football. He has also taken on a job as a special correspondent for Good Morning America .
