There has been major speculation over the past few days after multiple sources, including the Inquisitr , reported that wrestling legend Sting would be making his long-awaited WWE debut at tonight’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. Well, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer , WWE is absolutely planning on having Sting make his WWE debut at Survivor Series tonight.

On this morning’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio , Meltzer was asked by his co-host Bryan Alvarez if WWE was planning on having Sting debut at tonight’s Survivor Series in St. Louis, Missouri. Meltzer said the following.

“Well, that’s the plan. [Sting] is there and supposed to be debuting. So unless [WWE] changes their plans he’s going to be there.”

Meltzer also said that Randy Orton is in St. Louis, which was reported last night. However, Meltzer isn’t sure if Orton will be appearing on the show tonight, saying that Orton may just be there visiting his family, as Orton lives in St. Louis.

“Orton is there, which doesn’t 100 percent mean he’s going to be on the show because [Orton] lives there. But I think that there’s a pretty good chance he’ll be on the show.”

On top of Sting and Randy Orton being on the Survivor Series pay-per-view, Meltzer said WWE has another big name that may be scheduled to appear on the show. Meltzer didn’t reveal who the aforementioned big is, but said that whoever it is was booked to be on the show several months ago.

“[Sting] and [Randy Orton] aren’t the only two scheduled to be making surprise appearances. There’s one more who was scheduled way back, but that was before the Sting thing came up.”

Nobody really knows what Sting’s role is going to be at Survivor Series. But it’s hard to imagine that WWE wouldn’t have Sting do something big in his debut.

There’s a rumor floating around that if Team Authority loses, Sting will be the next authority figure on WWE television, and ultimately it’ll lead to a match between Sting and Triple H at WrestleMania 31, with the winner gaining full control of WWE.

Sting has been in the authority figure role before, as he was the on-screen authority figure in TNA for a period of time.

Being WWE’s on-screen authority figure may be a perfect fit for Sting in the months leading up to WrestleMania. It gives him a chance to become familiar with the WWE’s audience, be a weekly character without having to get physical, all while having a feud with Triple H that would culminate in Sting vs. Triple H match at WrestleMania 31 .
