Less than two weeks after taking home the illustrious Entertainer of the Year award at the 2011 CMAs , Country music star Taylor Swift has came up big once again – this time winning the Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards show, which aired live on ABC Sunday night.
“This is the craziest thing that has ever happened to me!” the 21-year-old ‘Fearless’ singer gushed upon receiving her prize. “Fans, please never change. I can’t believe this is happening to me!”

In addition to the AOY, Swift also snagged awards for Favorite Female Country Music Artist and Favorite Country Album (for Speak Now) during the ceremony, which took place at the NOKIA Theater in Los Angeles.
“I wrote this album while I was on the Fearless tour and so I ended up writing lots of these songs at four in the morning in hotel rooms,” Taylor told the audience after accepting the prize for Speak Now . “And the fact that you would honor it in this way, you just have no idea what this means to me.”
Along with Taylor Swift , artists Adele and Nicki Minaj were also bigger winners for the evening, each taking home multiple awards for their work.
