Robert O’Neill has been identified as the Navy Seal who shot and killed Osama bin Laden, according to the Daily Mail . The Seal Team 6 member is scheduled for a two-part exclusive with Fox News beginning on Veteran’s Day. During the Fox News interview, the Osama bin Laden shooter is expected to explain why he has decided to give up is anonymity.
The Seal Team 6 member will also explain his involvement in Operation Neptune Spear during the upcoming Osama bin Laden raid interview, as previously reported by the Inquisitr . In the past “the Shooter” now reportedly identified as Rob O’Neill , has opted against revealing his identity or even meeting with 9/11 victims in order to protect both himself and his family.
The Navy Seal has reportedly struggled financially after retiring from the military with 16 years of service – four years short of a full pension. During a Daily Mail interview with Rob O’Neill’s father, Tom, the reporter asked if the Osama bin Laden shooter was worried that ISIS terrorists would not target the family.
“I say I’ll paint a big target on my front door and say come and get us,” Tom O’Neill answered.

According to the military history of Rob O’Neill, 38, as shared via the Daily Mail , the Seal Team 6 member took part in 400 combat missions, and has more than one dozen tours of duty in active combat areas under his belt.

Before firing the kill shot at Osama bin Laden, Rob O’Neill was reportedly the “lead jumper” in the rescue mission to save the Maersk Alabama. The ship was overtaken by Somali pirates and the story of the ordeal was ultimately made into the Oscar-winner Captain Phillips .
Rob O’Neill was also reportedly one of the Navy Seals who helped rescue Marcus Luttrell. As noted in the hit movie Lone Survivor , Luttrell was the one man who lived after a failed mission to capture a Taliban leader in Afghanistan. The Osama bin Laden shooter reportedly faces legal action over his decision to reveal his identity. The decision to go public was allegedly based in at least part, on the loss of some of his military benefits after retiring before completing 20 years in the Navy.
