A junk hauler duo was indeed scared stiff when they realized that two skulls picked up at the cluttered home of a deceased man on the day before Halloween weren’t part of the decoration . The skulls, the duo picked up, were as real as they get.
Apparently, they had inadvertently picked up actual human remains, and the “Halloween” skulls were actual human skulls. Unlike traditional Halloween skulls , which are made of plastic, these were made up of calcium, just like all other bones in the human body. David Odice and Charlie Inzucchi of The Junkluggers Junk Removal Co. were quite shaken when they realized that, among multiple items, were actual skulls that were once used for Satan-related rituals.
The skulls were among thousands of occult-related items that were cleared out of the Fairfield home. The house was home to Robert L. DeVitto who lived there until his death at the age of 56 two weeks ago, reported Reuters .
Recalling the chilling experience, right during Halloween, Odice, said, “Being Halloween makes this real creepy and spooky, especially considering what else we found in the house. There were thousands of things related to the occult: magazines, videos, crystals, amulets, all kinds of new age and metaphysical stuff.”
Not realizing what they were hauling to the recycling center, the contractors dumped the skulls, and the rest of the dead man’s paranormal and satanic-themed belongings, at a Stamford recycling center late Thursday evening, reported Tech Times . However, after noticing the skulls remarkably appeared genuine or human, an attendant at the center notified police. Images of the skulls were sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office. The office later confirmed the suspicions of the attendant, stating that the skulls were indeed human skulls, and even clarified that one belonged to a male and the other to a female.
The entire bizarre case has been handed over to the Stamford Police Department. Lieutenant Diedrich Hohn at the precinct shared the department is conducting an inquiry into the matter and will be able to confirm within two weeks whether a criminal investigation is required.
Speaking about the case, Hohn said, “It’s one of the most bizarre cases we’ve had, especially being Halloween. If the skulls turn out to be 120 years old, obviously we don’t have a big crime here. But we want to be sure the skulls were not part of a grave robbery.”
What is equally interesting is the fact the police were able to track down the just-deceased home owner’s father Robert J. DeVitto, 89, and inform him about his son’s recent demise.
