Dakota Fanning, the 17-year-old actress known for her previous roles in films such as Man on Fire and War of the Worlds, is all set to attend New York University this fall, employees of the student-run website NYUlocal.com have reportedly discovered.
While messing around with NYU’s email system, which allows students to search for one another by name, the NYUlocal crew stumbled across an interesting find – typing in “Dakota Fanning” revealed the star’s new @nyu.com email address and made it clear that she’ll be landing in New York City for the coming school year.
According to Gawker, Dakota – who graduated from High School this June – was seen touring the university’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study last spring, giving the student body a heads up that she may be joining them this year — but it was not until she accepted an Early Decision offer and promptly had her email added to the school database that her enrollment could be confirmed.
If the claims are true, Dakota will join NYU’s class of 2015, adding even more star power to an already celebrity-friendly campus that boasts current attendees such as Sixth Sense star Haley Joel Osment and alumni which include James Franco and Alec Baldwin.
