Zac Efron is seriously regretting the way his relationship with Vanessa Hudgens ended all those years ago. According to anonymous sources and insiders, that is.
For those who aren’t familiar with the hunky actor’s love life, here’s a quick recap. Efron and Hudgens, who appeared together in Disney’s High School Musical , were once extremely romantic. Rumor has it that Zac’s partying became too much of an issue for the young actress, resulting in a couple of broken hearts.
The International Business Times reports that Zac Efron is living with a fair amount of regret these days. In the latest issue of OK! magazine, a publication that frequently pulls celebrity gossip out of the ether, an anonymous source claims that the Neighbors star wishes things hadn’t soured with Vanessa.

“Zac thought she was The One. He’s still crazy about her, and would love to make amends,” the tabloid recently dished.
Is there any truth to this juicy rumor? Is Efron longing for the days when he and Hudgens were still a hot little item, or is this yet another slice of unsubstantiated internet babble? According to the folks at Gossip Cop , Zac’s representatives have flatly denied the rumor . In other words, OK! magazine may have gotten another story completely wrong.
Although it’s presently unclear if Zac Efron will ever get back together with his ex-girlfriend, the Spring Breakers star told Shape magazine that she still values the time she spent with her High School Musical co-star. Hudgens said at the time that they simply couldn’t make their long distance relationship work.

She told the publication back in 2011:
“When you don’t have face-to-face time, it’s just different. Having an iPhone helped, but it wasn’t the same. We grew up together. It was nice to have someone to share all of those experiences with. It was a good thing. The relationship kept me grounded, and because I was with someone who knew me so well, I didn’t need to try to be someone I’m not.”
