Portia de Rossi is reportedly pregnant, a surprise that has wife Ellen DeGeneres considering divorce.
The pregnancy rumor comes after a long string of reports of trouble between Ellen and Portia, who have allegedly been considering divorce for some time now. There are few specifics about the alleged pregnancy, including whether Portia de Rossi cheated on Ellen or planned an in-vitro fertilization without her wife’s knowledge. Even evidence to confirm of the pregnancy is scant, however.
Neither Ellen DeGeneres nor Portia de Rossi have addressed the pregnancy rumors, but the couple has been steadfast in denying reports that they’re headed for divorce.
Earlier this year, Ellen took the rumors head on, telling People magazine:
“The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time. I really do. She surprises me all the time,” she said. “It’s what anyone experiences when you find that person that gets you, wants to take care of you, wants the best for you. We’re really lucky because we know how rare it is.”
The couple also made it a point to be seen together after Ellen’s hosting duties at the Oscars, showing up together to some high-profile after parties.
But evidence may point to trouble for the couple. Earlier this year, after Ellen was seen on a date with a “mystery woman,” though the two have not been linked romantically and the woman was not identified.
The celebrity rumor blog Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that the couple is already separating, and a divorce is imminent.
If Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi do divorce over Portia’s surprise pregnancy, it could be quite costly. Reports have said that the couple has more than $200 million in shared assets that would have to be divvied up in court.
