After four years of marriage, Elizabeth Hurley is once again ‘available,’ as the 46 year old actress/model finalized her divorce this Wednesday from her husband, businessman Arun Nayar.
After a short hearing before London District Judge Penny Cushing, Hurley was granted a divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behavior” By Nayar. Hurley and Nayar, one of 27 other parties who were also granted divorces, did not appear in court for the routine final hearing.
Hurley and Nayar were married in 2007 in a lavish ceremony at Sudeley Castle with English pop star Elton John giving the bride away. This was followed by a traditional Hindu wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India. The newlyweds sold the photos of their wedding to Hello Magazine for a reported £2 million.
Hurley had previously dated British actor Hugh Grant whom she met in 1987. Despite Hugh Grant’s famous escapade with a prostitute in 1997, they managed to stay together as a couple for 13 years until their breakup in 2000.
Following her breakup with Mr.Grant, Ms.Hurley had a controversial relationship with wealthy businessman and film producer Steve Bing. Their relationship ended in a nasty paternity battle when Ms. Hurley gave birth to her son Damian in 2002. Mr. Bing originally denied being the father claiming that he and Hurley had only been in a short, non-exclusive relationship, but later DNA testing proved that Damien was in fact, his child. It is reported in the London press that Ms.Hurley and her friends refer to Bing as “Bing Ladin.”
Recently, Ms. Hurley has been linked in the press to Australian cricket star Shane Warne.
The actress filed for divorce on 12 December 2010 and announced on her Twitter that she has separated from her husband several months earlier.
