A casino has been forced to deny that it has been inundated with snakes , after a bizarre online rumor suggested that the unwelcome visitors had been squirming throughout its building.

The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, which is based in eastern Pennsylvania, have now released a statement vehemently denying these accusations.

The establishment, which is owned by Las Vegas Sand Corp., stated, “There have been no reported incidents of snakes on our property. We do not allow any animals on property with the exception of service animals.”

Julia Corwin , who is the Sands Bethlehem’s spokeswoman, noted that if a snake was found in the casino it would almost certainly have caused a ripple of reaction, and their sophisticated surveillance cameras didn’t pick up a ruckus.

“If I saw a snake I would jump on a table,” she stated. “If there was any sighting of this there would be no way that we couldn’t know about it.”

William Ortiz, a State Trooper who operates at the Sands Casino Station inside the South Side of the Bethlehem facility, admitted that there had been “absolutely zero snakes in this place.”

So, how did this unique speculation start? It’s believed to have originally emanated from Facebook, after a visitor to the casino claimed on the website that they had been bitten by a slippery serpent.

The proprietor allegedly sought treatment for a bite that they assumed was from an insect. However, the doctor insisted that it was actually a snakebite, before following his diagnosis by immediately asking his patient if they had been to the Bethlehem casino. He then added, “You’re the 14th patient I’ve had this week who got bit at the Sands.”

Corwin said that she had become aware of this speculation through Facebook. “At first, I was angry the way it has gone viral on Facebook, but now that we’re in our second day of this, I have to laugh. It seems like there was one post that was going around and then it’s been kind of modified in a bunch of different directions,” she remarked.

Ortiz confirmed that this was the most peculiar rumor he had ever heard about the casino. “You always hear all kinds of little stuff,” he teased. “It is strange but there is none.”

This gossip generated during the last days of the Year of the Snake. The Chinese New Year is set to begin on Friday, which will usher in the Year of the Horse.
