Charlize Theron reportedly spent time with Sean Penn in Hawaii over the holidays.
The actress and the actor apparently spent some quality time together in Waikiki around Christmas. Reports suggest that Theron and Penn headed back to Los Angeles on New Year’s Day. Although the pair tried to stay out of the public eye during the excursion, they were eventually spotted by photographers.
However, Hawaii wasn’t the end of their time together. Sources recently told E! Online that Charlize Theron and Sean Penn hung out after their return trip to California . The pair reportedly stayed at the Prometheus star’s Hollywood Hills home on January 2.
Does this mean that Theron and Penn are a couple? Nobody seems to know anything about their relationship as of this writing. While some believe that a romance is brewing between the stars, there’s always the chance that they’re simply good friends who enjoy each other’s company.
Of course, none of this is currently stopping several online publications from stating that Charlize Theron has found a new love. The Daily Mail describes their Hawaii vacation as a “romantic getaway,” though it’s truly anybody’s guess if this true since nothing official has appeared from their representatives.
It’s worth noting that Charlize Theron and Sean Penn have been friends since around 2010. Rumors about the couple possibly getting romantic started to bubble to the surface after the actress split from boyfriend Stuart Townsend. Again, nothing about the relationship was officially confirmed.
This isn’t the first time in the past few months that Theron has watched the media speculate about her love life. The Mad Max: Fury Road star was recently spotted with a so-called “mystery man” at a restaurant in Los Feliz, California. Since men and woman can’t do anything together without it being labeled as “romantic,” many people thought the actress had found a new boyfriend. In short: She didn’t.
Charlize Theron hasn’t officially dated anyone since she broke up with Stuart Townsend. For the moment, the award-winning actress is completely devoted to raising her adopted son.
