Carrie Fisher has joined the FXX comedy Legit .
Fisher has been cast as Angela Greenberg , one of Hollywood’s top comedy-development executives, for the series’ second season.
According to TV Line , after Angela sees one of Jim’s (Jim Jeffries) stand-up sets, she offers to help boost his career. However, Angela has an ulterior motive for offering her assistance.
Legit premiered on January 17 on FX, and was renewed for a second season on March 28. It will move to FXX when the new season premieres in January 2014.
Carrie Fisher, who is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, most recently appeared on an episode of Entourage. She also provided the voice of Peter’s boss, Angela, on Family Guy .
Earlier this year, the 57-year-old seemingly confirmed that she would be reprising the role in Star Wars: Episode VII . Being 30 years removed from her last appearance as the princess of Alderaan, Fisher joked about the character’s progression since Star Wars: Episode VI.
“Elderly,” she said. “She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.”
Unfortunately for fans, a representative for the actress said that her involvement in JJ Abram’s upcoming sequel had not been confirmed . The rep said Fisher was just joking about the role, and that nothing had been set in stone.
However, Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the first four films, said producers have been in touch with some of the original cast.
“I’m assuming, because I haven’t talked to the writers, that these movies would be about our offspring — like my character would be sort of in the Obi-Wan range, an influential character,” he said.
