Seven were killed in Phoenix over the weekend when a gunman opened fire on his neighbor’s home. According to ABC News , Michael Guzzo , 56, kills his next door neighbors and two dogs in a confrontation Saturday that police believe “may have been touched off by loud barking.”

The victims have been identified by police as Bruce Moore, 66; his daughter, Renee Moore, 36; her husband, who took his wife’s name, Michael Moore, 42; and Renee’s son, Shannon Moore, 17. ABC News continued on to say that Guzzo shot at another townhouse before returning to his home and killing himself.

According to KSAZ-TV neighbors called police after hearing loud gunshots around 9 am Saturday morning. After the SWAT Team surrounded the townhouse complex, they discovered the Moore family had been murdered , including their two dogs.

Phoenix police spokesperson Sargent Tommy Thompson told reporters, “When they got to the back patio area, they found two people who had been deceased from gunshot wounds. They went ahead and made an emergency entrance into the apartment and discovered two other victims inside.”

Neighbor Libni Deleon told KSAZ-TV what happened when Guzzo shot at their home: “We woke up, somebody just banged on our door and they shot four rounds. I guess it was a shotgun, there’s big old holes on my door.”

Another one of Guzzo’s neighbors told KNXV-TV what he witnessed. “I heard some bangs, and didn’t think much of it until I heard the third or fourth one, because they were getting louder,” said Barry Hatchett. He continued on to tell reporters that he stepped outside his door after hearing shots fired Saturday morning, and that’s when he saw the shooter about fifteen feet from where he was standing.

“When I walked outside, I saw a middle aged gentleman with a big shotgun in his hand,” said Hatchett. “Had it thrown over his shoulder actually. And then he spoke to someone across the way. And what he said was, ‘You didn’t think I seen you home boy?’ Then he pumped the gun and he shot it.”

Police say that a pump shotgun was found next to Guzzo’s body, and they believe that was the weapon used to kill his neighbor, their family and their two dogs during the Phoenix shooting .
