Hugh Laurie has had a pretty varied career. Getting his start in comedy in he UK, Laurie transcended into a biting, sarcastic, and morally defunct Dr. House on Fox’s House for eight successful years. Now it looks like Laurie is finally ready to shed another layer by taking on a new villainous role in Tomorrowland .
Tomorrowland , which also stars George Clooney will see Laurie as an antagonist, but that’s all we know so far concerning Laurie’s involvement. The script is by former Lost show runner Damon Lindelop, and will be directed by Brad Bird. So far the plot it shrouded in secrecy, which has kept fans buzzing about both George Clooney and Hugh Laurie’s involvement.
So far it’s been established that it is a Disney project, and Clooney is the lead man. As far as the genre it’s said to be a sci-fi film, which is a little different from Disney but not far off from the land of fantastical that they’ve promoted in recent films like Alice in Wonderland and Oz: The Great and Powerful .
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the title of the film used to be called 1952, and was described to be “in the vein of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” Sounds like a pretty dark and obtuse turn for Hugh Laurie and George Clooney.
