The mystery of cocaine in the White House might just get solved now. In July 2023, a small bag of cocaine was found inside the White House, raised several questions and triggered an investigation.

However, it was originally closed after just 11 days due to insufficient evidence. The FBI has officially reopened its investigation into the matter.

The substance was found in a cubby near the West Wing entrance and caused a temporary evacuation. This also caused intense media scrutiny at the time. Even with surveillance footage and forensic testing, no suspect was identified. The investigation was ultimately closed by the Secret Service.

However, this discovery in 2023 immediately sparked political controversy. President Donald Trump led the charges of accusations against then-President Joe Biden and his family. Trump publicly accused President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, of cocaine.

There was no evidence or witnesses that supported these claims. Yet the accusations gained traction in partisan media circles and social media platforms. The Biden administration had consistently and firmly denied the allegations. They also called them “incredibly irresponsible” and politically motivated.

This controversy unfolded during a very turbulent time in American politics. The partisanship was at its extreme, and public faith in politicians at its lowest.

In 2022, a Supreme Court draft opinion in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case was leaked. This draft led to the historic overturning of Roe v. Wade. The leak and subsequent decision caused nationwide protests, and it deepened the country’s divisions on abortion policies.

The White House incident only added fuel to the fire. It increased the tensions between political factions. Both sides blamed each other for the leaks. It also raised questions about security and accountability at the highest levels of government.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino recently announced the reopening of the case during a press conference. He cited public interest and ongoing concerns about potential political interference as the reasons for reopening the case.

He said that the agency will receive weekly updates on the investigation’s progress. He also claimed that the agency has been in contact with whistleblowers. Some of these whistleblowers suggest that there could be possible connections between the incident and individuals close to former President Biden. However, no official suspects have been named.

Bongino also confirmed that the FBI is dedicating new resources to two other unresolved cases:

The leak of the Supreme Court’s draft opinion in the Dobbs case and the placement of pipe bombs near the Democratic and Republican National Committee headquarters on January 5, 2021.

The pipe bomb’s case occurred just one day before the Capitol riots. Despite years of inquiry, the case remains unresolved. These efforts signal a broader push by the FBI to resolve cold cases.

No one can argue that these cases are not politically charged, and they look like an effort by the current administration to destroy the credibility of the previous ones. It is no secret that the current republican government has been bypassing the Supreme Court laws and constitutional rights of citizens to gain a political monopoly.

The renewed focus on past scandals can reignite partisan debates and shape public perceptions of government transparency and integrity.

These steps would also prove that the governmental control of the narrative is increasing fold by fold.
