RFK Jr. seems to be a loyal Donald Trump follower even regarding his make up choices. Besides the eye makeup and heavy foundation, using excessive amounts of tan has also emerged as a quite dominant makeup trait among the MAGA brigade. While Trump has already been under the spotlight a lot of times for using heavy tan and looking somewhat strange, RFK Jr. seems to be following in his footsteps.
However, when Trump and RFK Jr. were spotted together for a press conference regarding pharmaceutical prices on May 12, 2025, it seemed that RFK Jr. was trying to beat even the American President in terms of wearing the deepest tan. Such an excessive tanned look has naturally caused interest among netizens and one user had asked once on X, “Is RFK Jr a spray tan guy, tanning bed guy, or just an olive oil as suntan lotion, bake in the sun guy?”

Given the kind of similar fake tans Trump and RFK Jr. are spotting it might mean that the President shares his makeup secrets with his inner circle. Trump has never been publicly vocal about using makeup and yet his looks make it clear that he heavily relies on various products to get the look that he is mostly seen with.
Talking about Trump’s tan, makeup artist Kriss Blevens told Fast Company, “My guess was he relied on some self-tanners to try to maintain a certain look that he’d come to feel healthy in from living in Florida.” Regardless of what he does, both Trump and RFK Jr. are not vocal about that.

It should be noted here that RFK Jr. had previously also spotted deep tanned looks. In a picture shared in November 2024, by Margo Martin, the then deputy communications chief of Trump, RFK Jr. can be seen with Trump, Elon Musk and others and somehow it is RFK Jr.’s tan that stands out. This naturally drew the attention of netizens as one user posted on X, RFK, Jr. obviously uses either a tanning bed or self-tanner. Neither of those things is natural or healthy.”
Another one added, “Most overdo it and they always end up with that leathery look.” Since RFK Jr. has not mentioned any kind of medicinal ways to get his tan, the lack of sunscreen usage might also be a reason behind it. Just like Trump, RFK Jr. also spends a lot of time outdoors and that can be a common ground for both the men to get similar kinds of tan besides the obvious usage of makeup.
