Karoline Leavitt and her husband Nicholas Riccio were first linked in 2022. The couple was introduced at a restaurant in New Hampshire. Leavitt and Riccio were both attending an event hosted by a mutual friend.
The two announced the news of their engagement in December 2023. The couple decided to get married in an intimate ceremony. The wedding took place at the New Hampshire country club mere days before Trump was sworn in as the President. Leavitt welcomed her son Niko with her husband on July 10, 2024.
The couple’s 32-year age gap has repeatedly raised eyebrows amongst netizens. Karoline’s new Instagram post was no exception. The 27-year-old took to the social media platform to post several pictures of her beautiful family from their vacation.
One of the photos featured a smiling Karoline posing for the camera alongside her husband, who was holding their son. The family seemed to be in high spirits as they posed in front of a swimming pool. Another snap showed Riccio kissing his son on his cheek while he held him.

The photos weren’t well received by netizens, as several rushed to the comments section to make scathing remarks about Trump’s Press Secretary and her husband’s age gap. “Is that his grandpa?” one user questioned.
“The baby looks a lot like his Grandfather, that’s holding him,” a second netizen wrote. A third added, “Grandpa looks so proud.” Another quipped while writing, “This is so sweet–three generations!”
One user even took it as far as saying that Karoline’s son looked “old.” The user speculated while writing , “You know what they say … when you marry and old man … you have old looking babies… he’s cute but the munchkin looks like his daddy right now.”
Several other netizens, on the other hand, took the time out to compliment Leavitt and her “adorable” family. “You are the best Karoline! You and your family are adorable,” one comment read. “Beautiful family,” another added. “Love you and your family pictures,” a third wrote.

Karoline has previously opened up about her relationship with her husband when she appeared as a guest on The Megyn Kelly Show. During her appearance, Leavitt was asked about the age gap between her and her husband. “Of course. It’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible,” the Press Secretary was heard saying.
Karoline went on to note how her husband has been her “greatest supporter.” She added, “He’s my best friend. He’s my rock.” She also revealed how Riccio, who has already built his real estate empire, is helping her achieve her career aspirations. “He’s the best dad I could ever ask for,” she added.
