Kris Jenner isn’t exactly thrilled with the comments President Barack Obama made about her daughter Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West.
During an interview with the folks at Amazon’s Kindle Singles, President Obama said that the current obsession with celebrity culture is slowly changing the definition of the American Dream . In his opinion, the focus on status and wealth is having an adverse affect on children.
“Kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success,” the nation’s leader explained.
Kris Jenner was understandably upset by the shots President Obama took at her family. Not one to sit idly by while someone slights her offspring, Jenner decided to address these comments during her talk show on Friday .
“It’s really great that people aspire to get a great job… but I wasn’t aware that you could only set the bar so high and that we could only dream so big. I was taught: Dream big, work hard and you could have whatever you wanted,” she said.
Jenner added, “I bet the President has some friends with 10,000 square foot houses and that he wouldn’t mind going over there when [he was] asking them to have a party for [him] while [he was] campaigning for dollars to run for president.”
Kim Kardashian’s mom went on to say that Kanye West never takes a vacation. Since the guy is always working, Jenner felt it was a little strange that President Obama would single him out. She also took a moment to defend her daughter.
“And Kim is the hardest-working young lady in the world. She never sleeps, she never stops, she never slows down and works so hard for what she’s got,” the angry mother told her audience.
